Charles 1 Triple unite Oxford 1644. Small module, larger bust. Obv' King holding sword & Olive branch with Oxford plume behind king. Rev' Three plumettes above declaration on a continuous scroll with date & oxon below. Ref' B-J V11-S11, Schnieder 303, S.2729: Ex Baldwin 1997: No ref' can be found for this before the Baldwin ref', while I cannot be certain it may have come from the legendary Baldwin basement built up over the last hundred years or so. A magnificent piece PCGS graded AU58, my grading brilliant as struck: For another example from these dies see DNW 26/9/11 Lot 1604 which graded EF & made £155,000 gross. This later appeared in Heritage auction & graded AU58 by NCG & made $249,999 (Approx £200,000 at todays rate of exchange)
